CYCLE OF PAINTINGS DEDICATED TO GRANDMA

The paintings of geometric, abstract designs are complemented by glimpses of nature. Most often, in addition to vertical color bands, there are circles or other elements that coexist with objects from the real world. In the cycle dedicated to Nona, I use handkerchiefs as the painting base, onto which I incorporate elements from my grandmother's life, alongside the original industrial print. The symbolism of the elements in the paintings reveals transformed images and feelings that my grandmother experienced during her lifetime. In contrast to today's lost time, when the transfer of precious knowledge from generation to generation is easily lost, I have placed personal expressions of reliving her world into shapes from the real or imaginary world.
